    .NET Filtered - 27.08.2006

    OK folks. I have been thinking about this for a some time now but I feel that on weekends I'll update this blog on Sundays only. Weekends seem to be very quiet on the blogging front and no matter if I have over hundred of subscribed feeds I still find it very hard to come up with a decent link list for both Saturday and Sunday. Therefore this blog is updated now six times a week (unless otherwise noted) and there are no updates on Saturdays.

    Microsoft WebDay 06

    I participated Microsoft's WebDay 06 yesterday at Helsinki (Kinopalatsi).
     
    I joined the Atlas/Ajax track. There were actually two presenters from UK, Phil Winstanley (Plip) and Dave Sussman. They talked about IE 7 and what it means for web developers, ASP.NET Services (providers) and Atlas performance and security. There was also a presentation of Atlas in a general level by Pasi Mäkinen.
     
    I enjoyed the track (and the day) very much. However there were some issues during Plip's first presentation (AJAX Security) when the projector stopped working. Luckily the problem was fixed eventually we could continue with the program. Even though there were techie issues I found the WebDay to be very valuable and I even learned new stuff there (for example I never realized how expensive the textbox autocomplete feature can be if not done properly). I truly hope there would be WebDay 07 next year.

    .NET Filtered - 23.08.2006

    No updates tomorrow. Heading for the first WebDay at Helsinki, held by Microsoft Finland. Some great guests coming to talk about IE 7 and Atlas like Dave Sussman or Phil Winstanley. Looking forward for this event.
